Good Morning Orem Elementary Families,

We successfully completed our first week of school.  We are looking forward to seeing our Kindergarten students at Kindergarten Back to School night from 3:00pm – 5:00pm and then for their first day of school, tomorrow, August 24, 2021.

Please remember that the school doors open for breakfast at 8:45am.  We do not have supervision available for students before breakfast.  Please don’t send your student to school before the 8:45am time unless they are participating in ballroom dancing.

For those of you new to the district and/or school, and for those who would like some clarification about how to use Clever and other common apps at home that we use here at Orem.  Please see the following link:guardian tech tips site

Here is some information regarding Ballroom from our ballroom teachers:

3rd-4th grade dancers,

We’ve only had six kids sign up so far this year for the introduction to ballroom class and we need at least fourteen kids for the class to carry.  We  plan on holding class this Wednesday and next Wednesday free for any 3rd or 4th graders who would like to try it.  Please enter through the northeast gym doors.

I will let you know after two weeks if we were able to get enough kids for the class to carry.  Please invite any friends, especially boys, who might be interested in trying it out.  If anyone is interested in being an in class parent helper please let me know.  We love parent help!  I’m looking forward to meeting everyone!

5th-6th grade dancers,

Ballroom begins tomorrow, Tuesday August 24th, at 8am.  Please enter through the North East gym doors.  The first two weeks are free to all so please invite friends!  We still need at least three more boys for the class to officially carry so please think of any boys you could invite.  If you are interested in coming to class as a parent helper please let me know.  We love parent help!

I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and dancing together. This is a reminder that if your child has been tested for COVID, please keep them at home until you get the results back. We want to keep everyone as healthy and safe as we can.

Thank you for your support you give to our teachers and your children.

Have a great week!

Good Morning OES Families,

Welcome Back to School!  We are excited to see familiar and new faces at Orem.  We have several new students coming to Orem Elementary.  Tomorrow, our first day of school, our faculty and staff will be wearing matching turquoise t-shirts.  Please let your child/children know that anyone wearing this shirt can help them with any questions they may have.

Back to school night tonight from 4pm-6pm.

School begins tomorrow at 9:15am – 3:30pm.  We will not have any “short” days this year.  The doors will unlock in the morning at 8:45am.  Please note the change of start/end times of school.

We encourage everyone to walk to school if possible, however we realize that this may not be possible for everyone.  Because everyone will be arriving and leaving school at the same time, we have implemented the following pick up/drop off procedures.  If the driver of the car’s last name begins with A-B, please pick up/drop off in Zone 1 – the front of the school.  Drivers with the last names beginning with C-G, please use Zone 2 -the far North East entrance, and if your last name begins with the letters H-Z, please use Zone 3 – the East side near the gym doors.  Please see the video for directions and examples.

Breakfast and lunch will be free to all students this year.  We are again encouraging students who bring their lunch from home, to use paper bags to bring their lunch.  If your child needs to bring a lunchbox from home, he or she will be responsible for it.  Even though things are sort of back to normal, we are still being cautious about the health of everyone.  We will continue to encourage a lot of hand washing and sanitizing for our students.  Our staff is continuing with the clean habits we established last year.

Here is a message from our PTA:
