Welcome to Orem Elementary!
We are excited to welcome our new OES cubs each year. Kindergarten is such an important step for students and families. Please know how much we appreciate your support and how much we look forward to having your students here at our school. Below you will find important information necessary to complete before school begins. If you have any questions, please call the office at 801-610-8116. Thank you.
- Sign up for Kindergarten Assessment – Before August 10th (Kindergarten Assessment Sign-ups LINK )
- Kindergarten Back to School Night – Tuesday, August 22nd
- First Day of Kindergarten – Wednesday, August 23rd
Things to note:
Full-Day: All of our kindergarten students will enroll in full-day kindergarten. Students in full-day kindergarten will have extended learning experiences that allow for more in-depth exploration. The additional instructional time allows for more individualized groupings for students to master the early learning skills that will lay the foundation for their future success. Full-day students will have additional math, reading, writing, and science instruction.
Anyone who feels that they would prefer a half-day option will need to discuss this with the principal. We encourage all students to do full-day for two weeks before switching to the half-day option. Because of schedules, half-day would be from 9:15 to 11:45.
Meals: School breakfast and lunch will be available for full-day kindergarten students for purchase. You may choose to send a home lunch or purchase a school lunch. If interested, please fill out the applications below to apply for free and reduced lunch.

Skyward: Your student will be put into a class after assessments are complete. You will receive an email with instructions on how to log into Skyward. This is where you will be able to see your student’s class.
