October 7-8(4:00pm – 7:30pm) – Parent Teacher Conferences

Because of COVID we are taking as many precautions as possible.  Teachers will be sending out sign-up information on Wednesday of this week.  We have two options for our conferences:

1 – In Person – parents can choose an in person conference with their student’s teacher.  If you choose this option, we ask that only one parent or guardian be present.  We also ask that you leave your children at home.

2 – Virtually – If you choose to meet with your child’s teacher virtually via google meet.  Please contact your child’s teacher to set up an appointment, they will then send you a link to the meeting on your scheduled date and time.

October 13th – Deadline for Reflections -The deadline to submit your project is October 13th, 2020.  Please see the attached flyers for more information.

Alpine School District and Utah Parent Center Parent Night

Thursday, October 22, 6:30-8:00

Impulse Control: What is it and How do we Get it?

Presented by Karen Fairchild, LCSW

Some children struggle to slow down enough to think through an urge to do something. They feel an urge to act and before they, or anyone else knows it, they’ve acted out in spite of predictable negative consequences.

This Parent Night will focus on:

  • Helping children recognize impulses

  • Developing plans for slowing down their reactions

  • Becoming motivated to practice skills.

Please register at https://bit.ly/2RR0av6 to participate virtually.

Principal Message – September 14, 2020

Good Afternoon OES Families,

We have only a few items of business today. First of all, thank you to all of our families that turned in your library and home reading books this summer. We are still missing around 100 of our home reading library books. We are just about to get our Home Reading program going, but we are missing so many books. Will you please look around your home to see if you have a home reading book that you could return to us? The cost to replace a home reading book is $10 per book.

If your child has a home reading book that was not returned, it will result in a delay of when they will be able to take home another book from our Library.

We appreciate all of your help.

Our PTA Reflections program is upon us. The deadline to submit your project is October 13th, 2020. Please see the attached flyers for more information.
