Principal’s Message – April 17th
Dear OES Families,
I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Easter weekend.
There is some exciting new construction taking place east of the school. For the next 2 weeks traffic lanes will be reduced to 1 lane. The flashing sign said the road would be closed, but I have been in contact with the construction crew and they assured me that it would be open, but reduced to one lane. If your children use this pathway to walk to and from school, please talk to them about being extra cautious and use the crosswalks for crossing the street.
If there are any problems or concerns, please let me know.
Thank you all for helping with our Fundraiser Run. The money that we earn will be used to buy technology for our school. This Friday is the day that we will have our actual Fun Run. Parents/spectators are invited to come and support your student(s).
The following is a tentative schedule (weather permitting) for the fun run. We will have to make adjustments if the weather doesn’t cooperate with us.
AM Kindergarten/1st and 2nd grade: 9:30am
3rd and 4th grades: 10:30am
PM Kindergarten: 12:45pm
5th and 6th grades: 1:20pm
Every student is invited to participate.
Please let me know if you would like to be put on the ballot for our school community council for next year. I will be sending out a ballot next week. You can nominate yourself or a fellow parent.
The 2017-2018 will be here before we know it. If you know that your children will not be attending next year, please contact the office as soon as possible.
We have wonderful teachers here at Orem and in order to keep the classes as balanced as possible; we will again not be accepting teacher requests. However, if you have concerns, questions or extenuating circumstances please let me know through email: email@example.com.
Also, if your family would like to request a track change for next year, please send an email to Mrs. Trout: firstname.lastname@example.org. We will try to accommodate as much as possible.
Next week is our Teacher Appreciation week.
The following is community information:
The Triple Crown Elementary School sponsored by BYU Track and Field will be Tuesday, April 25th, 2017 at 5:30 PM. These races are an incredible opportunity for Elementary school students to run a 1 Mile race alongside BYU Track and Field athletes. It is only $5 to enter the race and it is a great chance to give these students a taste of running and fitness. We have seen young kids come and run these races and have their interest in running sparked so much that they are now some of the top runners in the state at the high school level. Fun stuff!
